I really miss the Citroen DS3 Rally Edititon in this game so i made one myself from the Citroen DS3 Rallycross which actually is in this game.
As i don`t like the Mini Countryman Rally Edition car as much as i like the other 2010 cars i decided to get rid of it to make place for my Citroen DS3 Rally Edition car.
I got some 3D startup help from Nicolás Sastre Celli and went replacing files and graphics. It was not a simple copy paste thing because some
files make sure the car wil not load (correct) but after fiddling around for a while i managed to get what i wanted. I even put in a fully working codriver, he has no seat but who cares :-)
After the 3D was done i took a look at the graphics of the car. The rallycross car has no rear and front lights as a rally car does so first thing was to design them. After that i removed
everything that could remember us that this is actually a rallycross car. The game and the 3D model have some limitations on this so not everything was possible but i got as close as possible.
The mod is a complete mod so as long as you keep the folders i made intact you can create working liveries for it. I made some unicolored liveries the way Codemasters does for all it`s cars so
you can edit those with my permission.
Please respect my work and do not edit the following 3 liveries:
- Livery 4/6 - Blue livery
- Livery 5/6 - White livery
- Livery 6/6 - Yellow livery
- wheels with no logos, i made a black, white, silver and gold one with no logos
There are also some minor drawbacks. Because the lights are not fully functional and although i got the rear lights to glow in the dark the night stages are a bit of a challenge :-) because of this.
Also the 3D model has no 3D snow wheels so driving the car in the Sweden stages is a bit funny as the car has no wheels. Although no wheels the car still fully functions.
If you like to drive with interior view you will notice the safety net next to the driver, something that cannot be removed.
Co-driver is a must for a rally car so there is one in the car fully functional. He has no seat to sit on because the 3D model has no codriver seat but you have to look close to spot it
so no harm there :-)
Well this is about it. I hope you all like my mod because it was a hell of a lot work :-))) but very satisfying and fun.
p.s. in case you do not like my mod....which i cannot imagine ;-) you can place back the original Mini Countryman folders (mcr) which are also in the download in the backup folder.
